Among my toys is a custom Remington 700 that I had rebarreled and chambered in .244 Remington Ackley Improved. I've fireformed a fair amount of brass and am beginning to work up some loads in the fireformed cases. I shot some uninspiring groups with a new load today and finished off the target by fireforming some more brass. The bullet I use for fireforming is an 80g Remington Power Lokt driven by a near max charge of AA2700. Near max for the .244 Remington, well under max for the improved case. This load does a very nice job of fireforming the case and it is exceptionally accurate. I was working on the lower left group on this target when a fat fly had the temerity to land on the target.
