My dad has just bought a nightvision scope that he is wanting to mount onto an AR 15. The problem is that he wants to shoot it during the day and still have the night scope accurate when it is remounted. We were playing with the idea of mounting it on an A3 handle and hoping that when tightened back into place, that it would be within .25" of orginal zero. Does this seem likely or just a pipe dream. The night scope has weaver mounts. Any other options would be helpful.
Thanks
Jerry

Would you even notice if it was off by 1/4 MOA?

They make quick release mounts that are "return to zero" just for things like this.

They are not a cheap solution, but they more effective than just screwing the handle back on.

Check the usual AR vendors for different models of these mounts.

I like the La Rue if they have one that will fit what you want to do, I think they have one that will accept a scope with Weaver mounts.

I doubt you will be able to get repeatable 1/4 MOA accuracy using the normal method.

Nitram 1/4 MOA shift would not be a problem but say 2 MOA would which is the reason for my question

TexasSIGman thanks I will check La Rue out.
