besides pellgun oil what else will work instead of the higher priced oil that won't hurt seals and is much cheaper?? thanks!
i wonder if monolec is more like stp oil treatment? I use it in my engines with SAE20-50w motor oil I get more oil pressure and lower engine temps! STP is excellent for reducing friction and not having dry starts so that's why I said I wonder if its like this monolec??The MSDS for Crosman Pellgunoil states the oil is 8430 Monolec GFS engine oil, distributed by Lubrication Engineers, Inc. The current packaging states that Pellgunoil contains “petroleum products”. The following text on this oil is from their PDF:
Engine Oil Designed for Diesel Engines
BENEFICIAL PROPERTIES:
• Formulated using high quality, paraffinic base fluids that have been found to provide excellent oxidation resistance and film strength.
• Exceptional detergency to control formation of deposits in piston ring zones and valve areas, keeping engine clean.
• Primarily specified for engines but sometimes used in industrial applications, such as air compressors.
• Oxidation stability and detergency allow for extended drain intervals in diesel engines.
• Reduces oil consumption.
• Delivers longer effective life than ordinary engine oil.
• Protects against rust and corrosion.
• Available SAE Grades: 8420-SAE 20W (Pellgunoil is 20W), 8430-SAE 30, 8440-SAE 40, 8450-SAE 50
• Contains Monolec, LE’s proprietary wear-reducing additive.
WHAT IS MONOLEC®?
Monolec wear-reducing additive creates a single molecular lubricating film on metal surfaces, vastly increasing oil film strength without affecting clearances. An invaluable component in LE’s engine oils, industrial oils and many of its other lubricants, Monolec allows opposing surfaces to slide by one another, greatly reducing friction, heat and wear.
LE’s Monolec® GFS Engine Oils are a family of SAE 20W through 50 straight-grade engine oils formulated for extended drain service in on-road, off-road and marine diesel engines. They contain Monolec, LE’s exclusive wear-reducing additive, which has proven to reduce wear by 24.2% in radioactive wear tests.
also isn't it Teflon based??No. STP is an oil thickener. Hence more pressure to push thicker oil.
so I wonder what stp is made of?No, STP doesn't have any Teflon. You are probably thinking of Slick 50.
