Question about Colt 1911 22LR

I ordered a pair of the Walther/Colt 1911 22's for myself and a friend. When I checked their function I noticed that the thumb safety will lock up at times and a ball that rubs the safety lever has to be depressed to release it. Both guns do it but one is consistent. Has anyone else had this problem?
You would think that quality control would have caught this.

Is that a ball or a plunger? It should work in, although they could have done a better job of fitting the safeties. I'd call or email them. It may be a problem they are aware of and may gladly send you out new safeties.
