I recently applied for a curio & relics license. My buddy told me that I am now in the spot light for the feds when s*** hits the fan and the feds try to take away our guns. I am aware of what they are trying to do in Illinois. My question isn't about Illinois. Here was my response to him. What difference does it make if we buy our guns from an individual, a web site or a store if you have a hunting license which is in the state data base already. Does the goverment really think that we buy a hunting license and use harsh words to hunt with. The goverment already knows you must own a firearm if you are going to hunt. I would think that they could figure that out (or maybe not, it is the goverment). Let me know what you think. Thanks.

They use 4473s (Forward Trace, Pittsburgh Project, and surrendered dealer records), pro-gun member lists (including forums like this one), customer lists of parts sellers and ammo sellers, carry permits, in addition to dealer lists. The FBI has a pysch profile of who to eliminate first when the confiscations begin so the rest of us will more likely fall in line.

well as far as a hunting license goes, many people bow hunt. As far as talking on a forum, theyve got me. But thats why Ive always been reluctant to do stuff like post pics of your guns online in forums, or people who put their guns in their signature. if youre really worried, buy all of your guns from a private party. Atleast in Ohio, theres no paperwork for that Im aware of.
If you are really worried about your government, and I think you honestly should be, particularly of late. Buy more guns, get as many as you can under the radar. You won't be violating the constitution or bill of rights. You will only be violating all the trumped up ways to keep them out of your hands.
Our guns are the one and only insurance we have as common citizens to keep our government from running out of control. According to our founding fathers, we were only supposed to last about 80 years before the government ran amok. Whether or not their amok now is arguable, (even laughable, they are a bunch of limey mucks) but if 80 million of us did not believe in gun rights now, it would be worse. Of this, I can assure you.
Papers please will come from the US next in my opinion. And all those folks who only think of convenience, as long as I can have my plasma TV and McDonalds trans fats, will constantly vote your rights away. Step in now and be heard or be persecuted for it later.

Nobody is immune. NYC is already outlawing transfats. There is legislation in the works that will not only outlaw the use of cell phones in cars, but drinking beverages as well. I could see electronics falling under some environmental laws at some point.
Give up your delusions about a second civil war. Do some research on history (read about the Whiskey Rebellion). It will only get a lot of innocent people killed and at very best only postpone the inevitable outcome.
The best tool we have is organization and voice. It worked very well for the anti-gunners. It worked against the tobacco industry. It worked for the anti-war folks during the Vietnam war. It worked for women's rights. It even worked for those who supported the prohibition of alcohol at the turn of the last century.
The biggest problem we have, is gun owners will not unite as all those above groups had. We play us against them amongst ourselves. We disagree on what battles to fight and most of us would give the others up to keep what we have. We'll never win with these selfish mentalities.

I read recently that California is trying to pass a law to outlaw incandescant light bulbs. They want to go 100% flourescent. The point is, anything is possible. With the right (or more accurately, wrong) people in power, our gun rights are a penstroke away from being stripped from us.

They're more likely to target you for writing a letter to the editor, or trying to "vote" on your local Diebold machine... there's tens of millions of openly registered gun owners and tens of millions more who bought theirs from private parties.

What's really sad is that one day soon we Americans will be needing EVERY rifle, shotgun, carbine and handgun that we can lay our hands upon. We need to wake up right now! Do some research on foreign contingency plans that other nations have to use against our nation. Ever since about 1925 there has been at least one yearly meeting of the International Communists. At those meetings there were two groups in participation: the political people and the military people. From about 1925 to 1945 the topic for the meetings was pretty much, "How to further communism across the world and into new nations." After 1945 the topic of their meetings was, "How to defeat American or Western Imperialism so that we can occupy their imperialist country." Yep, Ol' Mao and Ivan used to have meetings to plan on how to defeat and invade our nation along with other free world countries. The politicians thought that they would advance their cause through the use of economics and politics to destroy us. Their military people would think of all sorts of ways to invade the free world nations. To give you an example, most Americans are aware that there was much communist thought given to invading western Europe from East Germany through West Germany through France and into Great Britain. That's exactly how NATO came to be formed: to stop possible communist aggression into Europe. Some of their other plans include using Cuba as a springboard to invade the southern USA. Which is why we were doing fly-overs and monitoring Cuba in the first place when the Cuban Missle Crisis came to be. Other plans include invasion of the USA via Mexico like the Germans thought about doing during WW1 and invading us from Russia through Alaska into Canada and then down into the middle of the USA. The Alaska-Canada Invasion Route was the basis for the movie "Red Dawn" which inspired the yell of, "Wolverines!" For all intents and purposes, the anti-gunners are doing nothing more than setting up their children and grandchildren to be slaves to communism IF they can ever get it together and push through total anti-gun bans. What's funny is that our nation's socialist anti-gunners would positively hate it to think that they could be aiding and abetting, in the long run, their arch-enemies the communists. Socialists and communists hate each other with a passion but yet they tend to unwittingly accomodate each other by furthering their group's individual agendas. I never could understand that about those two groups of morons. :banghead:

Those who might not think the communists are already here should do some research into the ACLU. I believe they came right out and claimed they were going to bring communism to America by using the very laws of our land against us to acheive their evil aim.
