The P7 does heat up a bit but I think its exaggerated a bit. I have 5 magazines for mine and I normally shoot about 100 rounds through it in a range session. You can hold and shoot it for 100 rounds but it does get pretty warm. Not warm enough to burn you but warm enough that I let it cool before I put it back in my Kydex holster. I have pretty meaty hands and the P7 allows a very nice grip. I don't think you will have the same problem with it that you did with the P6. Good luck! The P7 is a bit pricier than soem other choices and holster selection is VERY important if you intend to carry it but the P7 is really a second to none handgun. I think you will be pleased.
