I'm looking at getting an IWB holster. I have a Glock 26 that I've been carrying in a front pocket holster, but like the idea of an IWB.

My question is this... do you need to buy clothes that are maybe a little larger to compensate for the extra "bulk," or do you just keep with your regular size?

I practiced putting my unloaded (checked several times) Glock in my waist band to see if it was unforcomtable. Wasn't too bad and I really couldn't notice any printing. Of course, I know the holster will add a tad more.

BTW, this is the holster I'm looking at getting... http://www.highnoonholsters.com/Product_Line/Hidden_Ally/hidden_ally.html

A poster on berettaforum.net recommended it.

Good questions:D

pants about 2 inches larger than normal IE 40 instead of 38

belt? the same as above

BTW...Invest the money in a good gun belt...A crappy belt will make even the best holsters wear like crap.

High Noon Holsters=good stuff

Hope this helps

iwb

sportcat, i carry my g-19 in a shirt tucker iwb from www.comp-tac.com. i wear relaxed style jeans & have no problem with printing with my shirt tucked in. it only has 1 belt clip and is very user comfortable. i clip my cell phone over the clip for total concealment. as said before the belt is as important as the holster.good luck on your choice as there are many out there.;)

I dont get my pants bigger, they are a little snug with the pistol and holster stuffed in them, but this helps hold things in place and the gun moves around a lot less. Its not uncomfortable by any means. If its hot where you are and you sweat a lot, stay away from leather. Kydex is a better material for carrying IWB. A good gun belt is a must.

good belt=6-8 .oz thick with a strong buckle

cheap belts are not going to support the weight of a holster and weapon and will tend to sag...They are junk..avoid them..

If you can get away with it fashion wise, the Wilderness Instructor/rigger type belts are the way to go. Otherwise a good, heavy belt made to support and carry the weight of the gun and whatever else you have on it.

Get a good supportive holster and with a G26 loaded...you really dont need the same belt as a 3lb 1911 that will be carried for years. Simply put its overkill.
A good solid single layer belt will do you for quite a while or a thinner dual thickness belt will be the best. Keep it under 1/4" thick for flexibility and make sure its a good belt........youll be just fine.
8-10 oz leather would be excellent for a single layer belt and if you "may be carrying" heavier guns in the future...then you may want a dual thickness belt anyway.
Shoot well.

When I out grew my 34s I needed 35 (hard to find) so I bought 36 and they are just big enough for IWB.

I have one of those Hidden Alley and love it. It's firm enough to carry the firearm well but soft enough that when I take out the gun one long drives I can't tell the holster is there. Even though the mouth isn't supported for one handed reholstering I've never had a problem. Also I took mine to a local shoe repair guy and he removed the clip and sowed it back on at a 15degree cant so now the grip stays real close to my side.
