I just noticed what might be percieved as an "anti DE" tone in some of my posts.
Believe it or not I'm a big fan of the DE and would love to add one to the arsenel (only I lack the funds ... plus there a long list of expensive guns ahead of it ... the HK P7 for one).
I am annoyed by how Hollyweird and video games make the DE out to be the Uberpistol (when a S&W customshop .357mag with the 8 round cyl would be better in a SD/combat situation). Its not a combat or self defense weapon, its a sporting weapon (much like you wouldn't use a Hammerli 280 for self defense ... of course thats for other reasons)
The DE is also one of those guns that idiots that like to pretend to be experts seem to love to ramble on and on about (especially on the Internet) and Counterstrike players in general annoy me (I prefer Infiltration ... thats a whole other thread in itself ).
If you have the chance to shoot a DE, DO IT! Regardless of caliber they are great shooters and very accurate and a lot of fun (one of the sales reps for a supplier for a company I used to work for had one in .357mag ... he let me shoot it and it was a blast!). If you find one at a good price BUY IT ... you won't shoot it every time you go to the range, but it would be nice to have in the colleciton.
