This is a bit long, so please bare with me.

OK, here's the deal. For christmas my dad wanted to get me an 870, as I have mentioned wanting one. He wasn't sure what model I wanted, so instead he got me a gift card at dick's sporting goods, which he later regretted (as I am limited to purchase from them). They also filled out a raincheck form, just so I could get the current sale later - or so was the plan.

Anyway, because they called and left a message about a "raincheck" he had, the gig was up and he told me his intentions. So I used the card and a little extra cash to order a 870 Wingmaster 12 Gauge, 28" barrel, which they had to order, so I don't actually know when I'll get it.

So these are my questons:

1: Do the New/Current wingmasters have the dimples in the magazine tube like the express models do?

2: Do the New/Current wingmasters have the j-lock?

3: Do the New/Current wingmasters have a metal trigger group/tray?

Thanks,

Cyanide

Congrats on the new 870. I will answer the questions I can.

1. I do not know about the dimples on the magazine tube.

2. Every new Wingmaster I looked at had the J-lock. It is even referenced in the manual that came with the new 870P I picked up yesterday.

3. The trigger guard is aluminum on the new Wingmaster versus the polymer used on the Express.

I believe the dimples are limited to the Express model.

If yours comes with one, the J-lock can be replaced. IIRC Remington has stopped using them but they may still be in stock.

I'm fairly certain plastic/polymer TG is limited to the Express model.

Unfortunately, all my Wingmasters are old enough that a plastic part would have been considered a bad dream.

Good luck with your new 870, hope it's a Merry Christmas.
