1st I don't want this to turn into a debate on why you like (insert brand here) better than Glock... :)

Do any of you Glock owners especially G21s have problems getting the 10th round in on 10 round mags and the 12th and 13th on 13 rnd mags???

I have some mags that are brand new and some that have seen quite a bit of loading and unloading both seem stiff...

I'm fairly used to it, but its the only complaint I have about my G21...

When I had my G22 the mags were a bit stiff when new. If you dont have an Uplula loader, get one. They are simpy amazing!!

My wife carried a Glock 21 for several years as her duty gun (yes, I get made fun of because my wife's gun was bigger than mine). When she 1st started carrying it she had the 10 round mags and had quite a bit of trouble with the last round. Later she got the 13 rounders and had trouble with them, but they "broke" in after a while. The 10 rounders never seemed to break in despite being loaded on a duty belt for months.

i had the same problem with my G21 mags. while i want tell you to force the 10, / 13th rnd, they will ease up after being loaded for a short while.

Howdy Smullen and et al.,

Funny this question came up at our local monthly match on Sunday. I was approached by one of the new shooters who found out I shoot a lot of Glocks. A easy tip for this very issue that I learned long ago from another accomplished shooter was to take any of the double stack mags that was approximately 60 % full in one of your hands with the bottom protruding slightly. Use the open palm of your free hand and rap the bottom of the mag with it. What you're doing is to jostle the rounds slightly in the mag to help things settle into the staggered columns nicely. After a couple of these you should be able to insert a few more rounds. Repeat if necessary.

Only in the extreme situations should a mag be modified as they generally work reasonably well right from the factory.

Of course using the supplied mag loader will help with a slight mechanical advantage but settling the rounds goes farthing in getting things done well.

Hope this helps. Good Luck!

Every glock that ive tried to load (.45s) do the same thing. My g21 is always a pain to get the last round in, and then is a pain to seat with the full mag. When you pull back the slide you can feel the difference between a full and half full mag. In fact sometimes the round stripper will crease the case of the top round when you seat the mag. Its no big deal when you fire it the case comes out formed perfect.

Had this problem and it appears worst in the 10-rd mags because the redesign leaves barely enough room for the follower & spring. There's no easy way to fix it that won't interfere with feeding. A +2 floorplate on a 10-rd mag made it hold 11 stiffly, but 10 very nicely. I run +2's on my 13-rd G21 mags and they feel like they will explode when they have 15 in them and you pop it in the magwell- they feel like a shaken up soda bottle. Work fine, though.

Seems like that makes sense, but if I remember right all the 10 rounders are single stack and it seems like the issue is worse with the 10rnd (single stack) than with the 13 rnd mags...

But I'll sure give it a try...

I'm getting to the point where I may just order a 10 pack or so of 13 rnd mags... I want to pick uf a few more anyway...
