Hey gang, (I am going to post this on the Beretta forum as well)

My local delaer has a nice Beretta 84 Cheetah that I am seriously thinking about buying.

Here is my question.

I know the 84 comes in Blued and Nickle finish. HOWEVER, this one is in a Stainless finish, more of a bushed look.

here is a link to the gun.

I missed out on a nickle Browning BDA they had a while back, and I don't want to miss out on this one.

I am just curious, I did some searching and could not find another example of a stainless Beretta 84 to compare price-wise. Even on Berettas website it shows a shiny Nickle finish.

Any idea if this is uncommon or is the stainless finish common.

Thanks!

MTW

There are no stainless steel Cheetahs. Its either nickel or someone had it hard chromed.

No stainless that I know of. My guess is it has a aftermarket finish, ie: Robar. Looks good though, at a fair price.

It looks like a good price to me. I bought my Browning BDA .380 a few years back at a good price of $399 and the Berettas tend to go for more. I'd do it - the Browning is a great gun - so I would love to have its twin!

I have found several nickel finishes on an 84fs around the Internet. Bud's Gun Shop has new ones right now for $549. I'd be very hesitant to pay $499 for a used one.

I have the FS 85 in the same finish

Bought mine for $517 NIB two years ago. Great gun, very accurate. My only complain is too heavy of a trigger pull.

I'd pass but I'm cheap! I missed a similar 85 in 1999 for $150 though:mad:

I never really liked hi cap 380s or 380s in general but I'm a hypocrit as I just got a CZ83 but it was only $225. I lust after a Beretta mod 86 tip up barrel though.

Price seems a bit high though honestly.
