On Glock's website the picture of the Glock 30 does not show an extension on the magazines, it's flush with the bottom of the gun's handle. When I do a google search for Glock 30 images the only magazines that I see have that extension that your pinky finger hangs on to.

Question: Can I get factory mags for the Glock 30 that DO NOT have that extension for the extra grip? I'd like to know if the factory makes mags that are flush with the bottom of the handle.

Thanks!

When I purchased my G30 many years ago it came with a 9 round mag and a 10 rounder. I never used the 9 rounder and promptly traded it off for another 10.

Yes. My G30 came with one of each. I sold mine and haven't owned a Glock in a few years, but I'm sure that some Glockers can tell you where to get them.

I use the 9 rounders in my G30 when I carry it, the 10 rounders for the range, and the 13 rounders (G21 magazines) when it's in my nightstand. All of them work all the time. BTW, if you are going to use a G21 mag in the 30, skip on the "spacer" thing that fills the gap between the grip and bottom of mag. Waste of money, IMHO. All three vareities of magazines can be ordered from http://www.topglock.com, which is where I got mine, as well as numerous other places around the web.

Ivanhoe Outlet may also have the 9 rounders. Personally, I have all 10 rounders with Pearce grips on my G30 mags.

Yep, sure can. I bought one 9 round G30 mag to have in the gun and have two 10 rounders for spares. Got mine from CDNN, but they no longer list them. A quick check at www.topglock.com shows that they have them (item code 5934 on the magazines page). I imagine other suppliers (www.lonewolfdist.com & www.glockmeister.com) also have them in stock, just using topglock as an example. The flush-fitting mag decreases print ever so slightly.

Haven't had any trouble with controlability. Might pose a problem with fullhouse loads on a Glock 29, but I doubt you could run a .45 hot enough (& stay within safe pressures) to present a controlability problem.

I really don't see the big difference between the 9 round and 10 round mags. I carry my G30 primarily (as a matter of fact I have it on me as I am typing this at work) and do not think the flat floorplate of the 9 round is that much smaller than the 10 round floorplate. I think the extra round outweighs the benefits of having a flat floorplate. than Truth be told the G30 is a thick gun as it is but the overall size is relatively easy to conceal.

Carry the 9-round mag without the finger extension.

But for range sessions, the Pearce finger extension is nice:

10-round mag with or without the extension just was not as concealable.
