Do any of you own a Savage A17? How well do they function with different loads?
I understand that .17 HMR has been a bit of a difficult cartridge to build a reliable semi-auto rifle around, so when designing the A17, Savage and CCI developed a proprietary .17 HMR load that would cycle that rifle's action reliably. But will the A17 function reliably with 20 gr ammo from other manufacturers like Remington, Winchester, Hornady, etc?
Versatility is important, and it would be nice to be able to shoot a wide variety of loads without the concern that the rifle is going to be ammo finicky. Thanks in advance.
