Question and possible problem with Colt XSE.45

I bought this gun about 6 months ago and so far it has fed and ejected perfectly, I only have around 100 rds of Federal hydro shocks and Winchester white box through it..
The problem is when the slide is open and I install a full mag in the grip the slide automatically goes forward..
Also when I shoot the last rd the slide will not stay open after the gun is empty..

This is the series 80 Government model 5" barrel

I am using Colt 8 rd mags........Thanks for any info!drf

I'll throw my $.02 before the experts rush in. Try some different magazines. See if the problem persists.

Trying different brand mags is always a good first step.

If that doesnt fix the problem, change out the slide stop.

Mags first then recoil spring....put in a new one of different #.

Why would a recoil spring problem cause the slide to go into battery when a new mag is inserted?

That doesn't make sense to me, but I don't understand everything I know about 1911s.
