While looking at some on-line websites, I ran across this:

Rio RMG12 Royal Slug MG (Brenneke Type) - 12 Ga, 2 3/4", 1550 fps, 1 1/8 oz, 5 Rd/Bx

My question is, being constructed of lead, this is considered "safe" for use in tube-fed shotguns, correct? I know this image is a cut-away, but that sure is a pointy protrusion.

I beleive they would be OK. I see what you mean, they are pointed, an one after the other would put one point on the primer. But just pushing wouldn't cause discharge, an
they are probably more blunted, an it would take alot of striking force. They would also be liable, unless it was marked on the box, "Not for Tube fed shotguns". I don't see that possibility myself though.

The roll crimp at the end of the cartridge case has also been cut away in order to show the entire slug. The slug is actually recessed into the case and the protrusion on the slug can never touch the primer of the shell ahead of it.
