So I'm lusting after the Springfield Hellcat, all the reasons are for ccw and carrying smaller and lighter than my xd mod 2 45 subcompact.

First, the 11 round mags seem to stick out much more than the flush 10 rounders. I can get the 10 round version cheaper. Is the difference still worth getting the 11 round version and just live with .25 inch height difference?

Second, why is the Hellcat 100 dollars more vs the Sig 365? Are there benifits to the Hellcat for that price? I know they are major competitors but is there a reason for the price difference?

Third, what is the difference in gen 1 and gen 2 triggers?

Thanks in advance!

One advantage is that the Hellcat is available with the slide cut for an optic. the P365 is not unless you buy the larger XL model, which is more expensive than the Hellcat. The standard mags that come with the Hellcat are 11 and 13 rounds. Some packages include a 15 round mag. I've seen some packages that include an optic that seem to be excellent values.

I can't speak to different triggers as I only know the one.

I have both and am actually carrying the Hellcat more. I like the ergonomics and sights on the Hellcat, but it does feel slightly bigger than the P365. I like the P365 though for pocket carry and the trigger is a little better (in my opinion) on the 365.

I was looking for a sig 365 early in the covid shutdown. my spring xdm 9 was too big to carry. could not find a sig, but saw a hellcat.
I researched it quickly, and bought it on whim. I like it. got A LOT of rounds through it. its never once failed to fire, feed, or eject, with any kind of ammo. I carry with the 13 round mags, never seen a 10 rounder.
its a decent gun, u won't regret that purchase.

I'm also battling between the slide cutout version and the standard which is 50 dollars cheaper. Im not sure i need an optic now on it, but may want it down the line. Do you know if the sights are the same between these 2 versions?

Does that quarter inch really matter? Does one extra round really matter?

(This is an example of my assertion (here) that we tend to chase very small increments of improvement, past the point where it makes sense to do so.)

You can always get more magazines.

The sights are the same.

The same as far as I've seen. The standard sight is a U shaped rear with a large dot front. Very quick to align. Most micro optics co-witness with the sights, which do not have to be removed to install the optic... another feature the Sig does not offer I believe.

Dusting off this thread. To the OP’s point, I checked locally today; the Hellcat is $20 cheaper ($549 vs $569). This is the Plain Jane version of each: no optic cuts…mine is an OSP, however.
I installed the flush mag plate on my 11 round mag-it’s flush. Is the 10 round “more flush or recessed? For the size differential, I’d say the 10 round mag would be valuable only in states where you’re restricted to 10. To be clear, this is purely subjective. I’d get what you want, paint it pink with cheap spray paint and festoon it with plastic rhinestones and marabou feathers if that’s your preference. I chose a Hellcat for reasons after handling both and thinking on it a bit. I’m happy with my decision. My $.02.
