Has anyone tried making black powder from chimney dust? I swept my chimney and have some dried creosote flakes and dust and am curious if it would make good BP.

I have a fire burning in my wood stove 24hrs a day during the cold season and clean my chimney every year.
I used to burn only hardwoods and would seldom get much build up at all. Mostly ash.
Then last year I burned up to 50% seasoned fir and pine from a clearing project a few years ago.
When I cleaned this last time there was noticeably more creosote build up and I ended up with about half of a 5 gallon bucket loosely filled with a brown ash/creosote mix.
It initially looked and felt fairly dry, but was noticeably oily and much more difficult to clean off my clothes and hands when it was all done.
I wouldn't be surprised if it could be burned in some fashion vrs pure ash.

I still have that bucket because I have a project that I thought it might come in handy for, but I might try to see if I can get some of it to actually burn now that you have gotten me curious.
