i need to know what to do when my rear aperture sight is screwed all the way down and the rifle is still hittng high...... do i need a taller or shorter front globe sight?? the rifle in question is a rws air rifle but the question still applies even though it's a pellet gun.... the thing shoots at 900-1000 fps so it's really flat shooting at the range i'm doing in my basement..... 21'....... i was useing my scope outside but it wouldn't adjust low enough to use inside either...... thanks for the help!

If you find your shots are still going high or low after adjusting your stock sights when aiming at the bullseye, this formula will show you how much to take off, or add to, the front sight.

Error at target (in inches- elevation- up or down) multiplied by Sight Radius (in inches)

Divide that number by Distance to target (in inches- 1yd=36")

This will give you the amount of correction (Decimal) to add to or subtract from the height of your front sight.

If the bullet struck low, subtract the correction from the height of the front sight knowing what height to replace it with, and if it was high, likewise add with appropriate height.

i'm thinking of getting a new front globe sight and there are two heights to choose from..... which one do i go for?? they don't say how tall or short they are they just are taller and shorter...... i'm haveing trouble with which to go with.... they come with diffrernt inserts too..... the one on my rifle is the one that came on it but i did take the dremel tool to it and square the post because my old eyes couldn't see the the post as it came to a point... i can see the squared post better.... so you think i took too much off the front post?? if so i'd go for the higher front globe sight...... thanks again........

Taller.

Think of it this way:
Corrections to the rear-sight do the same to your grouping (eg. moving rear sight up and left, grouping goes up and left).

Corrections to the front sight do the reverse (eg. moving front sight up, groups go downwards).
