Question for those with CHL - Capacity

Besides the fact that calling anyone who spent 27 years in the United State Armed Forces a coward is beyond distasteful, youngda, I would question the legality of running into a fight that does not immediately threaten you with guns blazing. Even if you only shoot the BG, you are probably going to have a nice day in court. If they find a CCWer's bullet in a bystander, well you probably just ruined CCW for everyone.

His run and hide position is what it is, I'm calling a spade a spade...despite what he claims as his past. His past doesn't give him a lifetime bravery medal or some kind of immunity.

You should check your state laws and memorize them. If you carry a firearm you should immediately set it down until you know your state laws up and down. In my state it is perfectly legal to use a firearm for the prevention of a forcible felony.

That's fine...I would rather burn a few benjamins and know in my heart that I did the right thing.

That's quite the leap...one casualty of war to prevent a larger quantity from dying and all is lost...really, think it through.

Listen you don't know what you would do unless you are there. Every situation is different and so is every person. You intent may differ from reality if and when your time comes. There are no clear cut rules of engagement in imagiary situations. It's what is right at the time, your decisions will be made at the time of the incident, please don't assume that you will do something that you may not be physically or mentally capable of doing . Unless you are used to some type of special training under fire, your chances of surviving a confontation by staying and shooting it out with several gunmen who may be ex-ops or just street hoods are slim.
Your intentions may be noble, but that is all you know right now. No one should put anyone down for their opinion on something that never happened to them.
We all would like to think we would do the right thing.

You realize that just saying you will perform a brave deed doesn't make you brave? It's easy to say things.

What gives you the right to determine who is qualified to carry a firearm?

And its perfectly legal to go look for a felony to stop? Thats what you have advocated in past posts. Running towards gunfire. A CCW doesnt make you an LEO.

What you think is the right think and what someone else thinks is the right thing could be two totally different things.

This isn't war.

The gun, caliber, and the amount of ammo I carry depends a heck of a lot on where I’ll be. You won’t catch me out on the Gulf without my M1A and Mini-14, a coach gun in 20-gauge. and whatever hand guns we grab heading out the door. Likewise, when we visit our property between Del Rio and Eagle Pass in Texas: As Springfield says, “Bring Enough Gun”, and there are too many places in this country you best heed the advice. But when in urban and suburban areas, we all have to be careful of how much lead we put out there. Some guys want to imitate a mini-gun and black out the sun with firepower, but there are more innocents out there than bad guys. But face it, Gabby Giffords would have had her eggs scrambled if that ******* Loughner would have been firing JHC, or 147 grain sub-sonic JHC and there might have been a few more killed to boot. The other side of that is I’m surprised more weren’t killed by wild firing and ball ammo bouncing around like crazy. If there is a point to what I’m saying it is every situation you may fall into requires a different solution and WE must always consider what it would be like to live with killing an innocent(s) by our indiscriminate firing. I normally carry a XD sub-compact 9 MM with 2-mags (29 rounds, 1 in the pipe). Why, because I can I guess, because when I’m packing my Ruger .357 it’s loaded with six and I feel confidant I can meet any situation with it.
