Picked up another 1911 yesterday........
It's a Colt Mk. IV Series 70 with a Serial No. Prefix of 70B3XXXXX....seems this was one of the last models made between '82-'83 I believe. My questions is, when I stripped it for cleaning I noticed it had the short guide rod and the collet bushing also.
IYO........should these be changed out to a long guide rod like my earlier Government Models have and a solid bushing rather than those fingers ?
Also, when did Colt start including MIM parts in there 1911's....? I have heard that QC in the later years at Colt was an issues and I'm hoping that the Prefix "B" doesn't stand for BAD......guess we'll see how she shoots.

Thanks...
