Question on Mech Tech 1911 CCU

I am currently considering the purchase of a Mech Tech CCU for a 1911-type pistol but am wondering if the thumb safety remains functional when the pistol lower is assembled on the CCU.

Pictures of the assembled unit seem to show thw hammer back and thumb safety off. Just wondering if there is enough clearance to switch it "on."

Yes --- the thumb safety works as normal BUT if you have a extended safety it might hit the Mech-Tech unit and not go on safe.

Thanks for that info. I'm planning to use a Kimber with it and the (ambi) safety is somewhat extended. However, that is an easy thing to fix. I was mainly wondering if a thumb safety could be made to work and it sounds like it will.
