Question on Pre-bans...

Here in NY 30rd round mags are not allowed, would it be llegal if I purchased 30rd pre-ban mags for my NEW DPMS?

The way I understand it and they way ive been told, if its pre-ban then your all good. However ones that are stamped on the bottom are not pre-bans. I dont really know if an officer would know this or not. And if he did what kind of legal ramifications would occur. I would like to find this out because I was to buy some synthetic 30 mags for my AK-47.

Any pre-ban mag is AOK in NYS.

For the AK-47 question: Unless they are orange bakelite AK mags, I wouldn't buy a polymer mag. Very few were imported before the ban and most are generally post-ban (or no-ban, I guess).

lol thnks. This ban in NY is so retarded, you cant buy new magazines that hold 30rds but you can buy old ones!!!!! WHAT A JOKE!

It's not a joke... they are counting on the fact that pre-ban mags will become fewer in numbers over time..... just like MG's. Fewer out there and more expensive to purchase. This is just their way of slowly banning instead of doing it all at once.

Ya, LAK Supply is right, they figure after a while all the magazines will dry up. Unfortunately for them, they seem to be everywhere. But the fact that new one cannot be purchased may be a problem in the future ( how far in the future no one knows). Ide recomend buying as many as possible. You can always get a new rifle or ammo but without magazines they are worthless.
