So I ordered my scope through Cabelas and had them mount and bore sight it when I picked it up.
I went to the range and made minor adjustments to zero it in.
I have seen scopes where you can use a coin or allen key and reset the turrets so they are at 0 without changing the adjustments you made.

There is no mention of this in my scope box instructions, however the scope did come with 2 allen keys. One fits the windage, one the elevation turret.
However when I started to unscrew them it was spinning/clicking the turret as if I was just making normal adjustments.
Maybe If I hold the dial and try to losen the screw in the center, dunno...

Do you think that is a malfunction, or is it suppoed to do that? I didnt want to continue to unscrew it and totally lose my zero.

It is a Cabalas Alaskan Guide Premium 6-12x40mm Scope. 1/8th adjustments, and from what I can tell so far a great scope for the money. I figure I should be able to set the turrets to zero.

There was basically a pamphlet in the box, with all the other mounting/sighting info, but nothing about resetting the turrets.

It has to be what the allen keys are for. Ill have to try holding the knobs while unscrewing the middle.

Yeah, you gotta hold the turret while you loosen the allen screw. Those clicks you heard will have to be put back to get your zero back.

If its like my Bushnell turrets, after you remove the allen screw, you just pull straight up on the turret and place it back on in the zero position. The Bushnell turrets are splined on, and your just reindexing it.

I don't have that scope but thats how it works on a few of my other scopes. You hold the elevation or windage drum and unscrew the lock, then pull it off.

ok yeah that was it, it was a little tight and I didnt want to force it, but I got it.

Thanks
