Unscoped (Because I'm more of an open sight type of guy) how accurate are the Rossi firearms break open rifles?

I'm thinking about picking up one in .223 (I have a hundred rounds just sitting in my gun safe waiting to be put to use,and I was taught never to waste money)

And do they make one with an ejector or are they extractor only (And could a person have an aftermarket ejector installed?)

Rossi Single Shot Rifles are at best a good utility gun (have a .22 LR/20 Ga. Combo as a Jeep gun) and at worst a craps shoot. I've owned an early .223/20 Ga Combo and the only loads I could get below 3" groups were those 55 grns. and less. It loved 45 grn. Winchester White box hollowpoints. Except for my 22LR/20Ga, my Rossi singles all came with extractors.

Well the ammo I have my mitts on are Federal FMJ 55grain (Wally World bulk pack)

One aspect that got me thinking about this rifle was the cost (Also ease of cleaning and how simple the operation, cut my teeth on plenty of old "Poke Stock" shotguns)

Not to mention that most .223 rifles are sold out (Or so it seems)

I need a good 'yote rifle and thought it might fit the bill.

they are what they are; a couple shots only in a row , type rifle. they are cooked with soft metal, so they heat up fast. they will also ding up fast, and rust fast. i don't understand the ejector question; when you open it up after fireing a shot, the case will be thrust out, right into your eyeball, so move your head. I do like the manual safety , though.
Also, for break opens in general, two things you must do; keep the front rest in the same place every time. i keep my hand, or sand bag, right up against the trigger guard. if you move your front rest, your shot will move just as much.
Secondly, the front takedown swivel, also acts as a pressurepoint. you will need to zero it, with diff levels of loose or tightness. I had one that liked the front swivel, to actually be all the way loose, to where it could free spin like a top, if I hit it with my finger. That being said, once I figured that out, and figured out what ammo it liked, it could shoot moa groups for 3 to 5 rounds. After that, the heat moved the bbl too much to hold a group.
