Question RE: RMR 69 BTHP .224

The SMK 69 grain shoots very well in my 16" 1 in 9" AR.
Would it be a safe bet that the RMR 69 grain bullet will shoot well also?

Won’t know until you find out. But, I’ve had good success with RMR 69 grain bullets in my palmetto. MOA at 100 yards, really like them.

I had a barrel that shot the smk and the 3gh well no matter what load I used. My two most recent barrels took some load development to get the 3gh to shoot but I think it would probably have taken just as much work to get the SMK. I think as long as you do a load workup specific for the 3gh you will get a load that shoots great.

The fact a lot of rifles shoot the 69 RMR well is far more indicative to expect your rifle to do so as well than is the fact that your rifle shoots the 69 SMK.

Oh a 1-9" is plenty. I got them to stabilize in my 1-12" Encore, but that was only a 5 round "Let's see what happens" test. I'll need to get more data before I trust them in a 1-12".

I have trouble stabilizing anything over 65 gr with a 1:9 twist barrel's in my Ar's . I have not done much load workup on the RMR's 69gr. The ones I have shot I only got 1.5-2 moa.
