Hi,

I've just ordered a lock-n-load ap press and am preparing a followup order for accessories. Could someone who has purchased a press recently please clue me in on the following:

1. Which rotor does the powder measure come equipped with: pistol, rifle, or both?

2. If I want to load up several primer tubes for an extended loading session, should I order the "primer tube" (Hornady part #398358) or the "primer pickup tube" (Hornady part #398356)?

3. I've heard of eject problems with 45 ACP using shellplate #1. If I order shellplate #45 instead, can I use it for 308 Win and 30-06?

Thanks for the info.

# 1 The LnL comes with both pistol and rifle powder measures now

# 2 You want the primer pick up tube

I use Dillon pickup tubes -- they make it a lot easier to pick up primers. They don't fit quite the same in the top of the primer tube on the press, but they work fine.

I'm wanting to build a makeshift 'vibraprime' like I saw on youtube. Has anyone here done that? Looks pretty slick, but I was wondering about the logistics of it. Does the tube stay attached to the primer tray? Is it possible/feasible to fill multiple tubes prior to a loading session?

I'm in the process of switching from an RCBS Pro 2000 to the Lock-n-Load AP. I've had a love/hate relationship with the APS priming on the Pro 2000. When it works, it's great, but it has a habit of getting jammed up every 200 rounds or so. That means 10-15 minutes of down time while I disassemble and clean the primer unit. One of the things that I DO like is that I can preload all of the primers that I plan on using during a session into strips, and they are ready to go--no stopping to load primer tubes.

I'm sure I will get it all sorted out. My press should ship from Grafs any time now, so I have some time to worry about all of these things! Is there a good place to read up on tips and techniques for getting the most out of this press?

Cheers,
