I purchased a P95 about 3 weeks ago and I am wondering if there is a way to adjust the trigger pull in double action mode. In double action it seems heavy but in single action mode it works very well.

I have owned a used Ruger 9mm in the past that seemed smoother in the double action mode. Does anyone own this model and if so, will it smooth out as it breaks in?

I have been using (as I did with my other handguns) a teflon based lube and it has really loosened up the action overall.

Also I have noticed in the first 2 times I've had it at the range that it shoots about 3-4" low at just 25-30 feet. I notified Ruger and they will send me a new rear sight that they say will raise the round around 8" at 25 yards. Does this sound like this will correct my sighting issue or should I plan to return it to Ruger in the near future?

I've always been happy with Ruger's customer service in the past. I owned a P85 9mm that I purchased second hand and they did all the updates for free and returned it to me with an extra mag (pleasant surprise). That's one reason (along with price $299.00) that I purchased this one.

The main complaint I have with this one is the Picatinny rail only has one slot at the very end of the frame and I can't find a wrap around mount for my red dot that will stay in place when I fire it. I also have a problem when I tries to mount my laser.

Short of selling it and going to another model do any of you have any insight?
Thanks,
John

I had a couple of issues with my P95 and one of them was the sights. I sent the whole gun back to Ruger and they fixed everything and the gun shot to point of aim when returned.

The double action trigger on my gun is smooth and it am satisfied with it. I don't remember if it was always smooth or if it had to break in.

Mine has over 20k rounds through it and the double action still sucks. My solution, I only shoot it single action.:neener:

I don't know how far your want to go, but I replace the hammer spring in all of my P series Rugers with a Wolff 19lb spring. Some guys go lower, but I have never had a failure to fire with the 19lb spring. If your pretty mechanical, you can polish all of the contact surfaces of the trigger mechanism after disassembling it. I do all of my handguns, but I am one of those people who has to take every spring and pin out of every handgun I own just to see how it works. I have shot cases of cheap Russian ammo out of my P95s. They are tanks, but will never be a bullseye gun. You can also install aftermarket adjustable sights. I use Mec Gar sights on mine, but there are others out there.

I had one for years. It was very reliable and accurate. It was just too big (for me)to conceal well. I sold it to fund another gun. I really wish that I hadn't.

I do like the feel of the "NEW" P95, but never thought about bying another one as I have a SW99 now.

The P95 is a fine pistol at a good price. You can't go wrong!
