I found a bit of match grade (per the box) remington eley 22lr ammo last night. Price was $18 per 50. I know match 22 ammo has always been quite expensive, but is this a fair 'pre-panic' price for a box of 50?

I've been wanting to test my skills and using match grade stuff would, at least imo, remove one variable when I shoot.

Last match ammo I purchased was Fiocchi at 50 bucks per 500. I've seen Eley (in days past) at about 12 bucks per 50, so it looks like that price isn't horribly out of line.

I'd do some research though, as Remington .22LR ammo has given me fits for the past few years. Not sure if the Eley cases make up for bad QC I've experienced.

I have a couple of boxes of CCI Green Tag stuff marked at I think 6 or 7 bucks a box (of 100.) Granted, I bought them in probably 1988 or so; does that count as "pre-panic?" :D

I have all sorts of odds and ends of .22 ammo left from ammo testing. I think most of these prices are within the past 10 years, but who knows, I mostly shoot Wolf.

Boxes of 50:

Remington/Eley Match EPS - $7.99
Remington/Eley Match XTRA Plus - $5.99
Eley Trainer - $3.95
Eley Practice - $3.99

John

P.S - Fwiw, in 2004 a brick of Wolf Match Extra was $18 and soon went to $20.

Pre panic I think I paid ~$125-13o for a brick of eley black box....

Just recently I think I paid $145-150/brick........

It's gone up a smidge......nothing too dramatic.

Same here on the Eley match black box.

LGS has a dozen or so bricks (500) that have been sitting there at $141/brick since last year sometime.
