I finally got to shoot my new 6" stainless GP-100 today. I just took some .38 Special with me to try it out. That thing was like a powerful cap gun with those light loads, virtually no recoil. It felt great and was very accurate. I can't wait to try it outdoors on some fun targets with some stronger loads.

I also have one and agree. With the weight of the longer barrel, .38spl has virtually no recoil. Even fairly hot .357 mag is light for the gun. It's rock solid and will last you for many, many years! Congrats!

Love mine. Also have a GP100 4" blued. bought the 6" SS so as not to wear too much of a ring on the cylinder.

What's nice about the 6" GP100 is that even .357 loads are soft shooting. Yeah, you'll get more muzzle rise, but there's nothing like a nose heavy gun with a rubber grip to soften things up a bit. :D

The ease with which it I achieved very good accuracy with the GP was noticeable after shooting the FNP-45. Not to say it is poor, but the GP is just so much easier with longer sight radius, ergonomic grip, and fixed barrel.

Of ALL the centerfire handguns I have fired in 55+ years, my 6" GP100 .357 is the sweetest, and my absolute favorite. But, I haven't got up to the Redhawks yet.
