Hello,
I just a new model ruger blackhawk in .357. This is current production with the internal lock.
I then bought hogue wood grips to replace the sandpaper plastic one that came with the gun. These new grips unfortunately were made for pre 2006 frames without the internal lock.
Anyway I went ahead and fit them to the frame anyway, and after some filing and fitting they fit on there nice and snug.
My question is, is there any reason why fitting these grip panels to the frame would be detrimental to the function and or safety of the gun? I just want to make sure that I won't run into any unexpected problems.
