I know Taurus gets a bad wrap. But I had a model 66(357) back in the mid 80's that was awesome. I also shot a Raging Bull in 454 Casull a few years back that was indeed very nice and very manageble with 325 grn loads(8" bbl). So are there any Raging Bull owners out there ?? my inquirey is based on a killer deal on a 6-1/2" .41 mag for $500 bucks; it looks like new with hardly a cylinder ring.(no round count though).

Well I have the 454 in the 8 3/8" barrel, and while I see written that there a 50-50 proposition, I guess I got lucky with mine. It shoots better than I can hold in most cases. The only drawback, if it could be called that, is the price of factory ammo.

I handload all of mine so it's a wash. I was given mine by a close friend, and have had a great time with it over the past 6 or so years I have had it. I have loaded it from mild to wild and much prefer the middle ground stuff to the top shelf loads. The revolver has held up fine with no issues. The heaviest bullets I load are only 325grs, and I don't run them over 1650fps most of the time. I simply don't feel that there is anything here in TX which this won't put on the ground.

I cannot say how the 41's shoot or hold up, but I love the caliber, and if I didn't already have one in the Ruger Redhawk I might be swayed to look into the Taurus.

If you do get one, and your a caster, I highly suggest you look into the MP molds and see if there are still any of the 41 #258 Keith molds available. I purchased one in the solid and it is an awesome bullet. The first load I pulled out and loaded shot right at 2" at 50yds and would have done better but I had to hold over to try and keep from blowing the side out of my bucket trap. Had I adjusted the sights I could have easily have had a 1" or closer group from the load.

FWIW, (or not)
There were a lot of those T-66s like that. I still have mine, and it is still an excellent revolver. Nonetheless beware of 'disparate comparisons'. It ain't the mid-eighties anymore, and 41 mag is not 38/357. Lots of us 38/357 guys shoot a whole lot more 38s than 357s thru either brand 66s.

You are certainly on the right track seeking specific caliber feedback on Raging Bulls in 41 mag. Plenty of 41 mag shooters on this board will hopefully oblige.

be well, and shoot well

I do not have a bull in 41. Own and have owned several of the Raging series and Trackers. The Raging guns in 44 and 454 have been extremely accurate. I use scopes on these guns and groups at 100 yards are as good or better than most factory revolvers. Cast bullets shoot great, but the barrel cylinder gap has been tight on everyone of these guns that I have owned or shot. They require cleaning often or the cylinders will bind. I have custom single actions with tight gaps that also require the same attention. Guns with larger cylinder barrel gaps do not have this problem as much usually. I would rather have the tight gap and clean often.

I have the 6.5" 41 mag and its a great gun. I've had it for about 9yrs now. Never any problems, killed about a dozen hogs and 3 deer with it.

41 mag

I would rather have the Redhawk, but every one I come across is about a $1000 bucks and the RB is half the price.
I would like to more info before I buy. I already have a Blackhawk & an S&W Mtn Gun in .41 Mag, so if it's not worth it, I'll be ok.

The Raging Bull 41mag is something I've been considering for a number of years, but I have about ten 357/44Mags. The local Davidson's dealer has them on sale this month for $486, kinda hard to resist at that price. :)
