Does this stock need any of the hardware from the wood stock (like any bands) of the Garand rifle? I was thinking of adding a Danish Rack Grade less stock to my order of a standard US Service Grade.

There IS a USGI plastic stock for the M-1 Garand, and you can find them for under $80. You can get really nice new complete walnut copys from Boyds for ~$100.

Won't get into the 'sacrilege' discussion. I'm a functionalist, personally, and whatever works for any given individual is just dandy with me.
Pros and cons to about any choice. With accessories or anything else. Value being relative, it's pretty much up to you decide where your best interests lie.
FWIW, I don't think that ANY replacement stocks for the Garand come with hardware. The good news is that all of the necessary items are readily available and relatively cheap. The only 'problem' piece would be the upper handguard clip which can be a PITA to remove or install without damage to either the clip or the 'guard unless you use the special tool. Not to say that it can't be done, it's just a bunch easier.
I don't have any experience with synthetics on a Garand, so I can't really recommend a particular brand. I have a Choate on my Mini-30 and a Butler Creek on one of my 10/22s. Both work well. Both were 'drop-on' and presented no special problems for the swap.
If I'd known that a GI synthetic had been available anywhere (no commercial versions were at the time) I would've considered it. While the aesthetics of the M14 versions may be open to debate, the superior functionality under military conditions aren't. Can't see why the same sort of benefits wouldn't apply to an M1.
The Boyd's wood sets look better than almost any GI relic set will, and don't cost a bunch. GI pieces in VG or better condition can still be found, too, but will likely cost almost as much and won't match-up as nicely.
My own Garand wears a laminated set from Reinhardt Fajen that I got from Midway at a bargain price when Fajen was going under. Personally, I think that laminates have the functional advantages of synthetics (except for light weight) and still retain the 'wood' aesthetics'. It fit much better than the one that came on my rifle and somehow knocked about an inch off its groups with the same ammo. It added about half a pound to the weight, but that really doesn't matter much to me as I don't contemplate having to hump it all over Creation daily anyway.
The only real concern that I'd have with a synthetic is how well the handguards would hold up under the heat of extended firing. I plink quite a bit with mine and it can get pretty warm when I get carried away trying to stop those 'dynamic wave' attacks of ravening Red Coca Cola cans.

Still too much extra, not getting the "Rack grade" stock which might be really bad anyways, will save $50, and the Ram Line stock is only $40 with the dealer discount from Midway. I could always try and ask for a nice stock, but I would rather not have two clone Garands (thought one was issued to the Danish and came back).
Yeah, I have read about that in all the disassembly instuctions for the rifle. I'm not too good with finesse, so it will be fun to say the least.
That would have been nice to be able to get.
Or this Ram Line with wood like finish, but Midway doesn't carry this one.

Here is an EASY way to remove a handguard clip on an M-1 without breaking the wooden handguard.
1. cut two pieces of soft iron wire about 15 inches long each. thread each wire through the hole on the inside edge of the handguard clip, and twist it tight on itself.
2. on one end of the two wires, form another loop big enough for a screwdriver shank, and twist that wire around on itself.
3. clamp the wire end that does NOT have a loop in it in a bench vise.
4. put a screwdriver shank through the loop in the other wire
5. using the screwdriver shank as a handle, pull on the wire so as to spread the handguard clip. Once the clip is spread enough, "roll" the handguard out of the clip.
6. clip wires off of holes in handguard with side cutting pliers when done.
I like this method BETTER than using the actual handguard pliers issues by the US Military. You cannot "Slip" with the wires, whereas you CAN with the pliers.
