I see where 8 lbs of X-Terminator is available from Powder Valley for only $198.

I currently use H335, which is also available but is $233.

X-Terminator doesn't seem like a very popular powder, but I'd just like to hear any opinions on it. I like to save a buck when I can so is it worth the switch from H335 to save $35?
This would be used only in .223 Rem.

I read that X-Terminator and AA2230 are the exact same powder, so any experience with that also would be appreciated.

Here's my thinking. If you already have the data and don't want to waste the time to develop a load, then stay with H335 as saving a few bucks isn't worth it to me when I already have tried and true.

However, if you're wanting to scratch that itch to see what else is out there and don't mind trying new things and putting in the effort and time figuring it all out, then by all means you should definitely try it out. I never would have found out that I didn't like Benchmark this way, or known that both CFE223 and TAC are absolutely great for both 223 and 3-8 loads in a semiauto. Heck, I never would have found Varget to be the most thermally stable all year round for my 308 target loads that I use to either hunt or target shoot with.

I too prefer TAC but I have used a lot of Xtermanator in .223, used it for 3 gun for years because I could get it cheaper than anything else. It meters very well from volume measures better than any IMR powder for sure.

I use x-term and tac depending on bullet weight...both work well for me.

I prefer TAC, but grab X-Terminator whenever Sportsman’s Warehouse has it on the shelf for $24.99. I use the X-Terminator for 55 gr and under bullets. It provides good accuracy and velocity and flows like water through the RCBS Uniflow powder measure (just like TAC). And yes, it is identical to Accurate 2230, as the loading data for both on Western Powders web site shows. It is a good powder, and if I couldn’t get TAC, I would prefer X-Terminator over H-335, even at the same price. YMMV.

I have been using TAC & X- term. for awhile in my AR. 55 Gr 23.2 to25.8 TAC
X-Term. 23.3 to 26.0 H335 23.0 to25.3 CFE 223 26.0 to 27.8 Works for me
