No matter how hard i try...my pile of stuff keeps getting bigger. Its a good thing I drive a truck! My wife just laughs at me. Took me twenty minutes to load the junk last range trip.

The range bag, a cleaning kit(8x10x18 tool box), spotting scope, cased rifles...

How about a small tarp to throw down. I's think it would be easier to retrieve empties with one.

I tried that last week. Good idea, I used the wrong approach. I put the tarp down and went through a magazine or two and I was missing the tarp :) I never paid attention to where my brass went. Once I figured out where it "usually" goes for my gun I had no problems.

I pretty much bring guns, ammo, ear/eye protection, targets, couple of hand tools, binoculars, rifle rest, staple gun, duct tape and that's about it. I use a plastic moving box modified to have a shelf for the targets with everything else below and I use a hand dolly to bring it to the range. I shoot for the most part at a sandpit. When I go to the club, I can park about 25 feet from the benches. For the most part, except for the tools I use all of what I bring every time.

I don't even know anymore. I know it has some things I don't need, and its always missing something I do.

A few sheets of notebook paper and a roll of orange stick on price stickers make very cheap targets. A pencil and a small note pad. Bore Snakes in appropriate calibers. Small flash light. Extra shooting glasses. Tool kit. Small brass hammer.

Bugspray and sunscreen come in handy if you shoot outdoors. Unless you're a big fan of mosquitos, chiggers, and sunburn. :)

I put a boresnake in my bag for quick cleaning in a pinch and some paper towels.
