Hello Everyone - I see some shooters at the range with neat wooden boxes to keep all their equipment and gadgets in while shooting. Anyone have a picture or plans for building one? I guess one could use a fishing tackle box but the custom ones seem kind of neat. Appreciate any help on this -

I'm with your second thought, I use small tool boxes ( they may be tackle boxes) I get at the local "blank-mart" and pay 5 or 6 dollars for them. These boxes are small enough to store neatly, large enough to keep most items needed for shooting. I use one for each caliber, ie. .32, .44, .50. For someone on a tight budget they are hard to beat.

Now I'm not at all saying that those "really cool looking wooden range boxes" wouldn't be great to have, I would love one. I'm just trying to get the most "bang" or should I say "smoke" for my buck.

Mike 56, that's a great idea on the ammo box, my kind of price too.
I have a large Plano gun box with all my general items, and three plastic tool boxes for rifle, pistol and black powder. I just bought a loading stand so that ammo box well be next, looks like a lot of room.

i use a fishing tackle box. i guess i could make my own as well. just time is short then i thought that if i made one out of wood then i would have to carry around a 20lbs box. so it was sooooo easy to go out to my local big 5 sporting goods and buy 2 tackle boxs for 7.99 each. one i use for black powder the other for smokeless. they both carry everything i need to do the job. well worth the money spent. then they have all those compartments and dividers for everything
