I have the 1997 model Police Carbine and a P94 pistol. It is fantastic fun. The new PCC seems al View attachment 898862 most as good as the original....(OK I'm biased)
I love the looks of the original.

Anyone have one of the chassis models with adjustable stock ? I priced one today. This thread doesn’t help matters.

The beautiful thing about it is there is a "metric butt ton" of magazines both new and used available on almost every gun web page for the P series pistolsI had an original PC4. If it had taken Glock magazines, I’d still have it. Great gun.
At the time, they were marketing those PC carbines, I think most Police Depts were carrying S&W 59 series pistols and/or Beretta 92's. I didn't see Glocks in all the Police holsters until the early 2000's. at least around my area ,they never switched to Glock until the 40S&W craze. Here is a Ruger ad for their Police pistol circa 1994, definitely was not very popularYup. Not a fan of the P-series pistols. That Ruger built the original PC9 and PC4 to take their own pistol magazines makes it clear that they understood the attraction of a carbine and pistol that shared magazines. IMHO, it was a misstep to only make the PCs capable of using Ruger magazines given the huge popularity of Glock pistols, especially since the original "PC" stood for "Police Carbine" rather than "Pistol Caliber," if I remember correctly. You want this rifle to be popular with police forces? Make it available compatible with the most popular pistol platform of the time. I was already shooting Glocks, and was disinclined to buy proprietary magazines for a pistol caliber carbine. YMMV.
