I had previously posted details about the experience I had buying my P232 in this thread...

http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=378895

Recently I had the chance to get this pistol on the range and, well, I must say, WOW! I am impressed. I simply love this pistol.

The pistol came with stainless steel SIGLITE night sights, a factory Houge wrap-around grip and two mags with black plastic floorplates.

I quickly ordered a set of NILL grips to replace the Houges and set about searching for mags with stainless floorplates. While the NILLs were relatively easy to obtain, finding mags with stainless floorplates was no easy task at all. These magazines were originally produced for the Sig P230 and Sig no longer makes them. They are a rarity to be sure, and finding them online is impossible.

I finally did find them at the Crossroads gun show here in Phoenix. I found a mag vendor who had 5 of them at the show, and another 200 (so he said) in inventory. At $44.95 each they were a bit spendy, but I knew that they were a hard to find item and figured the opportunity may never come again. So having only $100 on me, I bought two.

Once I had the grips on the pistol and a stainless mag inserted, oh man! Sexy! I couldn't wait to get it to the range.

Now I have never fired a P232 before, much less any .380, so I didn't know what to expect really. But hey, it's only a .380 and it's a Sig at that. What could possibly go sideways?

Well, I was not disappointed one bit.

The target above is the very first 7 rounds out of the pistol, fired from 21 feet in about 7 or 8 seconds. I was rather impressed with myself seeing as how this was the first firing of this gun. All shots in or on the 10-ring. Can't beat that! :D

I ran about 100 rounds through the pistol with absolutely no issue, and all groups were similar to the one above. Recoil was much snappier than I had anticipated from a heavy .380 like the P232, but it was certainly manageable. Also, while I was not "bitten" by the slide, I can see how someone with large hands could be if they are not paying attention to their grip on the gun.

To sum up: In my opinion this pistol with the addition of the NILL grips is simply second to none in the .380 arena. The sights line up naturally, it feels good in your hand, and it is one sexy pistol! If you can't hit a target with this bad boy and look good doing it, well, pack it in and go home kid. You got no business out there. ;)

My thought is that (as hinted at by the top pic) this pistol would be great for concealed carry in a small shoulder rig when wearing formal attire. Nobody will see it of course, but you'll know you have it, and you'll feel goooood. ;)

Congratulations, looks like you got yourself a winner there.
Also VERY nice pictures!

Thanks! I work really hard to get the pictures right and make them enjoyable for others to look at.

Here's another I took of the pistol by itself. Brings out the color in the grips a bit better.

That's a nice pistol you've got there! I just bought a blued P230 from a friend and really like it a lot, though I'd much rather have the stainless version. I don't even mind the recoil at all with the Hogues I put on, which is the reason my friend had never liked it. This little guy has actually made me rethink getting one of the KT or Ruger .380s. They're a lot smaller, but I love this one so much I'm willing to dress a bit different to conceal it.
