This is actually the second report. The first was on a friend's new gun and this one is on the one I just bought.
The fit on these little pistols is very good. I paid under $500 drive-out. The first one had problems going into battery and a tap on the slide would fix it. My gun would occasionally do the same thing. My reloads would not go into battery at all. Problem turned out to be that my bullets were within specs. but were too long to fit into the barrel. Making the loa less than 1.248" fixed that problem. On the second trip it was around 30 degrees and I found that the guide rod was locked up against the slide on the sides. This was a case where the gun was too well made and the tolerances were too tight. A little work with a file fixed that problem. After looking at the threads here and on other sites, I ordered a Colt Defender guide rod and spring set. They dropped right in without fitting.
The last trip to the range produced no FTF and the gun shoots well. I just put on a set of Hogue grips that make it feel better in my hand but would give a problem to someone with a small hand. Overall I think this is a great gun for the money.

Nice gun sir. I have the same model. I have been 100% happy with the way she shoots. Accurate and no malfs yet. I purchased the same grips and it fits my hands really nicely as well.

I bought an extra recoil spring and assembly from ATI just in case, but so far, it has functioned exactly as it should. For a $400 purchase, it has been well worth the cost.

Thanks for the range report.
