I bought a Henry Model 001 lever-action rifle in .22 about a month ago. When I got it home from the store, I found that the rear sight was radically crooked. I had it sent back to the Henry people in Brooklyn. Well, it came back with the problem fixed.

Took it to the range yesterday and took on some dangerous enemies; some soda cans and plastic bottles at 20 yards. I liked the idea of a lever action because a semi-auto would tempt me to play machine-gun Kelly, rather than more careful shooting. The action was butter-smooth. The sights were right-on. The stock was comfortable.

I am one of those people who would love to shoot centerfire ammo every weekend, but who can afford that? Even 9mm and 7.62X39 is getting costly. At least for the time being, it will be .22LR out of my Henry, Ruger Mk II and Marlin bolt-action every other weekend. The rest of the time will be 9mm out of my Hi-power and 7.62X39 out of my Saiga of my SKS. Hopefully, my readiness for combat will improve.
