Greetings,
I have a serious question and I hope someone will be able to asnwer. I asked it in different forums to increase my chance to get an explanation or a solution.
I did the shooting with 3 different rifles:
- FS2000 (1:7 twist)
- RRA CAR-15 (1:7 twist)
- SIG 556 (1:7 twist)
I used the following ammo:
- Wolf Military Classic 55 gr FMJ
- Silver Bear 63 gr HP
Here are a few pictures of my groups at 25 yards. I shot close because I wanted to really know the difference.
(This pict I put the dots with a pencil because I used the big orange target and I shot more after). This one was shot with the FS2000. As you see, the POI is the same with 55 grains and 62 grains.
Here are 2 pictures with the CAR-15. This scope is zeroed at 25 yards. As you see, the POI is the same with both bullets. Please not the 4th hole, is one that I missed my shot (I was about to sneeze...hehehehe).
For the SIG 556, I need to give you some explanations. I use a EOTHECH 557 with the 4 vertical dots (100m, 300m, 400m and 500m). The EOtech is zeroed to 100 yards
This one has been taken with the SIG 556 55gr using the 400m dot.
This one has 3 circles:
- 62 gr with the 300m dot
- 55 gr with the 400m dot (I got loose here and after my 3 shots, I did about 10 rapid fires.
- 62 gr with the 300m dot
Now, my question: If I use the 300m dot with the 62gr in my SIG 556, it is hitting 4 inch under the POI. It does that with my SIG 556 only. WHY?
Thank you
