First trip to the range with it. I did replace the front sight with an Ameriglo Ti night sight from Taurus before the range trip though. Excellent deal from Taurus for $30 and easy to change out via a roll pin.
I don't think the sight change affected me shooting low with it for several loads, but could be part of it. It did show better than the factory black sight and I appreciate that Taurus used a pin so one can replace the front sight as they see fit.
The little revolver handled 32L, 32Mag, 32acp, and .327Mag well. It did not like some 32L I had loaded with 76g LRN (odd load which few things have liked) nor a 32Mag load of mine with 70gr FMJ's in them. Those 2 loads shoot poor groups even at 7yds.
It shot the classic Bullseye load under a LWC in 32L very well, if a bit to the right of target (could be me).
It also did well with some other of my 32Mag loads but the best of the ammo I tested was my 32 Mag +P with 115gr LFN. It shot both of those loads done with Longshot (data from an older Handloader edition) well and to the best point of aim of any of the ammo I tested.
Federal factory .327 85gr SP did alright from the pistol, larger group than my 115gr loads and was low to the right on the target. Low and/or right was common with many of the loads except the 115's.
For curiosity I also shot 18rds of PPU HP 32 acp through it. All fired fine, which hasn't been my experience with all my 32 revolvers, was soft shooting, in a nice group, but low on the target.
I will likely load some 327mag with that 115gr LFN and stick with that if it shoots as well as that bullet did in the 32 Mag +P. Or, stick with that 32 Mag +P load as it is since it was quicker on follow up shots than the 327 Mag load. Yes, it is a bit of a handful with 327 in it, so one may opt to stick with the 32 Mag in it. I'm still pondering that myself and need to do more load testing.
The trigger on it is heavy, 6+ lbs in SA and 13+ lbs in DA. I don't think there are any spring kits out there for them yet. If anyone knows of any which they are sure works in the 327 please let me know. I'm not looking for real light, but a bit lighter and smother would help, especially in DA fire. The rubber grips are held on with a roll pin, not sure how I feel about that yet. I think other Taurus grips with the traditional screw would fit it but I have not been able to confirm that myself.
I only shot about 100rds out of it, so not a torture test. For around $350 I think it is a solid deal and I am happy with the buy.
