Hello, I was on my way out to the range to put 100 rds through my S&W 642 and decided to stop by my local gun shop to put a Ruger .357 on layaway. I just couldn't keep from buying it. I ended up paying right at 460.00 OTD for this gun. It is a Ruger GP100 Special Edition Model with the gray finish and 4in bbl with full shroud. Needless to say my 642 didn't get shot. I ended up shooting 100 rds of Winchester 130 gr. .38 SPCL FMJ's through the gun. Out of the box, it shot about 4 inches high at seven yards. but luckily there was a guy at the range that had a screw driver to let me use to bring the rear sight down. This gun is a Hoss compaired to my 642. Recoil with the .38 SPCL was very minimal. I can't wait to try out Magnum loads through it. The trigger need to be lightened up a littke bit, but hopefully it will get better with repeated trips out to the range.

I've got another 20 days to wait for mine. I was in the middle of my one gun a month time when I bought it and then I have to go through the ten day wait after that. :cuss: God I love California.

Really looking forward to it, it'll fire the stuff I'm afraid to put through my SP-101. I dry fired the one I bought, and it had a pretty good trigger on it. My SP-101 loosened up real well after a few thousand rounds, hoping the GP-100 will too.
