Ok, I have to ask. How do they know he was twirling it around when it went off? Do they have this on tape from a CCTV camera in the studio, or is this just a guess? I'm trying to give the guy the benefit of the doubt that he wasn't this stupid.

Don't play with deadly weapons.

And don't make cute comments about the dead (implying that the world's better off without them). It isn't the high road.

Man Found Dead at Recording Studio After Twirling Gun

The part-owner of a southwest Houston recording studio was found dead on Jan. 4. Police say a man who co-owned a southwest Houston recording studio was found dead in that studio after playing with a handgun.

The 30-year-old man, who Houston police has yet to identify, was twirling his gun while in the studio and the firearm discharged leaving him shot in the head.

The studio, located on the 12,700 block of Medfield near Dairy Ashford, was used primarily to record local hip-hop music.

Houston police has ruled the shooting an accidental death

What a bad thread title. Police haven't even identified the guy yet

In fact, the guy was a co-owner of the studio (which was used mostly for hip-hop music) - he may not have been a rapper at all.

Amen. Imagine if this was someone you knew. It's horrible.

The arcticle is so brief and vague, that it is impossible to tell what happened. For all we know, the guy might have been recording backup vocals for Alan Jackson, wearing his CASS rig, and upon ignoring the 4 rules while practicing his draw and holster techniques, plugged himself. Just as easy could have been a suicide, after all he was "found dead", implying there were no witnesses.

More or less, the only lesson to be had is:

1.All guns are always loaded. Even if they are not, treat them as if they are.

2.Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.

3.Keep your finger off the trigger till your sights are on the target.

4.Identify your target, and what is behind it. Never shoot at anything that you have not positively identified

The more I read these types of posts the more I see that we have a bunch of very stupid folks answering and should be held accountable for their own stupidity. The victim was stupid for sure, or it might have been a deliberate suicide. Which is sad for sure.

But to come to a forum and say it is good and you are happy, is really messed up :barf: Time the moderators did their job I'd figure.

In a recording studio whose primary business is recording rap music its a reasonable guess I'd say.

Maybe he was recording a new Frank Sinatra cover?
