All,
I don't have one, but from the reviews that I've seen, I may want to add a new Century Arms RAS47 (Version 2) to my collection.

Seems like a very well built AK.

Curiosity Question:
Now that they are making AK rifles, does anyone know if they plan to make any of the larger caliber AK type rifles, like an american made PSL or VEPR type in .308 or 7.62x54r?

I don't see them making anything in .308 because of the lackluster sales of the Zastava M77 that they just imported. They were super cheap and seemed to be good quality but didn't seem to sell well.

I would like them to make something like the Zastava M91, or just import that with a reasonable sales price.

I don't have one either, but I'm thinking a large part of the appeal of AK's is the relatively cheap ammo they use.

I've seen both excellent and a few bad reviews of the RAS47.

I really want one, and nearly bought one, until the bad reviews mainly about the finish not being high quality. While I doubt that's the case it gave me pause.

Personally, I'd spend the extra $100 and get a DDI AK.

Even IF Century has their crap together nowadays, its still hard to put any trust in them. Old habits die hard...

DDI is Waffen Werks renamed...they've had their quality problems too

DDI is not a rebranded Waffen Werks, they are a different company. DDI purchased Waffen's assets and have revamped assembly.

I had a Waffen 5.45 and it was superb. Easily on par or better finished than an Arsenal.

I think the problem with the M77 is lack of magazines. How you plan to sell a semi auto, .308 with one 5 round mag is beyond me....and no other magazines available.

I just saw an ak from century, had all magpul furniture. I don't know what model it was but it was a really nice rifle. It was 7.62x39 and it was better quality than my saiga. The fit and finish was really good. All machining and stamping was really good. If this was an average representation of what's out there online I would have no problem buying sight unseen. But every firearm has at least 10 people who will say bad stuff abt it.

There is also limited demand for a rifle that cost more to shoot than a 7.62x39mm, recoils more, has less parts availability, but still doesn't add much to the effective range because of the overall accuracy level of the system.

Does century plan to make a milled variant too?

I doubt it because it would directly compete with their milled C39 V2. Or the other way to look at it is they already offer a milled variant, which is the C39 V2.

If you want an AK get an older milled Arsenal. A couple things. First, when you take off the thumbhole stock, some have a lower tang slot milled some do not. If not dont worry, you can cut off the top and install an Ace sidefolder. Next, there wilk be no side rail on many. You can purchase and install the rail kit which comes with cap screws.
