RCBS Bullet Feeder

Has anyone here mounted the new RCBS Bullet feeder on a Hornady LNL with case feeder?

I have figured out three ways not to and still do not have it in the happy place. Five holes: Size/deprime, powder/case flare, bullet feeder, seater, taper crimp. This requires placing the feeder on the right side. There does not seem to be room or reach for the bullet drop tubes from behind the handle priming position. Would like to use their pole mount, but could fabricate a new one.

Does anyone know of a source for the springs they used as a drop tube?

PS: Ordered feeder on April 21st, arrived July 9th from MidwayUSA with one broken part that I built and replaced already.

Does anyone else have a RCBS bullet feeder yet?

Looks like I will be custom making a new lower drop tube, placing die in slot #3 and mounting feeder carousel on the right below case feeder. Original tube too short / clearance problem w/ LNL powder measure.

Still open to suggestions and pictures.

I don't have a LNL but I'm thinking I might want to order the feeder for my RCBS Pro 2000. I've watched the Midway Site and several others including RCBS to see if anybody would get them in stock...so far it seemed like a vapor product.

I've been absent from this forum for a month and didn't see your post on July 12 until now.

Since you really have one, it must be real. I've been waiting for reviews on it simply because I don't understand how the feeder works. I understand the collator part of it, but how does the thing feed a bullet to the case?

Die has rings/ fingers

The feeder die has plastic rings that ring the inside of the die. Kinda like fingers pointing upward. As the powdered case is driven upward it flares the fingers outward. Bullet drops int case mouth. Next one up is stopped by case dropping and fingers compressing. They send two of every size, might be a wear issue down the road.

UPDATE: Did find out I have one of the first units on the street. I made the clear Plexiglas sections longer than stock and got it running weeks ago. RCBS R&D sent me extra long springs to test as a flexible bullet slide/guide. Have not tried them yet as my fix is running fine. I have less than 500 through it so far. Think everything is tuned up. Seems to miss dropping a bullet after about 20-40 good feeds. Hoping it wears in and improves to maybe miss one after ~100 or 200.

Will run 1or2K before being sold on the concept. End goal is to move seat to the right and use good left arm to run press. If I do not love it... MR BULLETFEEDER has called me twice and I like his product also.

Okay, so the bullet is just dropped in the case...not seated or even started? Then you have to advance the round to the seating station without dumping the bullet (or causing the bullet to lean out of alignment)? Guess that's why it only works with pistol bullets. The case would have to be generously flared for that to work on mine. (hard on case life)

I hear they are working on a rifle version. That'll be interesting, because rifle cases aren't flared only beveled, and bullets are long and they don't stay put as you yank them over to the next station. They must have another idea.

The real answer is to somehow design such products to drop and seat at one station. Wonder how the Mr. Bulletfeeder is different? Don't think he makes one for my press.

Do the misses get hung up in the springy tube, or in your plexiglas addon? 20, miss, 35, miss, 23, miss. That doesn't sound like a product ready for market. That would be very annoying.

They do seem to be working with you, said the lab worker to the guinea pig! Maybe I should wait a bit...unless they want me to "test" it for them with you...Of course I'd want to get a really good price on the tested equipment!

The case flaring does work the brass more than I desire. But once or five time fired brass is always free. None have split on the initial flare. I added a LNLPTX to get the needed flaring. Made some measurements of case flare. Might be increasing the flare ~.002 to meet the factory .383 (i think). Nuggets seem to hold fine in the flare. Hornady seater die lines them up very well when not. Feeder works better than the MANual finger system.
Should run a big batch in the next several days.

I think MR Rick Bulletfeeder is made universal to work in any press... maybe with mods. His is more expensive and was not available when I ordered mine in April. Will load rifle with cal change kits.

Feeding problem seems to be in the dies, not the plex tube or spring tube.
Will try the second finger set if problems do not go away after 500-1K nuggets break in.
