Locally I've been offered a New In Box RCBS JR3 Single Stage press. It comes with a Uniflow Powder Measure, shell holder for 9mm, and some Lee bullet molding equipment too. The molding stuff I dont need.

He was asking $150 but that included a set of 9mm dies that just got sold. I'm guessing he'll be around $120.

That seems high to me when I can buy a NEW Lee Classic shipped to my door for $125 OR a Hornady Classic Kit for $280 shipped that includes a powder measure and other pieces (that I can also use in my LNL Progressive) and the 500 bullet Hornady rebate.

Soo....does the the price on the JR3 sound high to you? I plan on using it deprime 223 and 308, maybe swage. I'll probably load 308 on there too so I dont have to keep changing out parts on my LNL Progressive.

Thanks

Check eBay for prices on RCBS JR3's. Usually there are several listed, other RCBS reloading gear too, which will give you a close idea of what they sell for.

Compound toggle presses ran simple toggles like that one off the market decades ago, and for good reasons; they work but I sure wouldn't try much swaging with one. That powder measure isn't my favorite but it works well enough and is probably the best part of the deal. If you do get the buy, keep the measure and resale the rest.

If you want an excellant single stage, get the Lee Classic Cast, it's the current "best" press in its class regardless of cost..
