Hello,
First of all, It's kind of strange that I ended up with a Pro 2000...I was looking for a nice progressive and have been playing with different colors for a while now. (Red and Blue) Then someone suggested the new RCBS pro chucker 5..Wow..Didn't even consider RCBS due to all the other noise..After some more research about safety, build, and reliability I ended up choosing the one they are replacing..(pro 2000) Sounds like offering a new press might be the best advertising they could have done..This is a wonderful press and it work flawlessly..I am absolutely stoked about this hidden gem, and I am soo glad I did not pull the trigger on one of the other flavors..ymmv..
Sorry for the long intro...My question.. I have already bought another die plate and plan on using the lower half of the linkage on each to make powder dispenser swaps easier.. The Consensus is that you can use the Hornady Quick change die and mount it to the RCBS uniflow for a good bit Less than buying the RCBS linkage set. Is this still accurate? Most of the sites that talk about this are a little older and now all the stores selling it say it's only for the Hornady Measure. I know in the past Horandy licensed the design from RCBS and that's why it used to work but maybe that changed..
I hope this makes sense..It will to someone that knows what this is all about I hope.. Below is the the one from Hornady that is for sale now..(they say it's different) Next, is the whole lower linkage from RCBS..About 50 bucks difference just to get the linkage which was not needed before because you just twist the knob and pop the spring and reattached when put on the other setup..
