My answer would be something like:
"No. You did not like them before, you did not support my right to have them, and to use them properly takes training that you couldn't be bothered to pursue. If you didn't see why I needed them then, you don't need one now. You're defenseless by choice. I'm not. Deal with it." *close door*
Why would you even tolerate them, if you know that if they say they were overreacting, they'll be RIGHT back to voting against your 2A rights?
