A Church Security Plan

I carry 2 guns to church a 380 LCP and a 38 revolver.
Nobody knows not even my wife.
I'm there security plan they just don't know it.

That is trouble that hasn't happened yet. How do you know your church doesn't have a security plan in place, that you don't know about?

What do you suppose would happen if a crisis developed and you jumped into the middle off it?

How do you think the Ushers ( most likely respondants to a security situation) would react if you threw your loose cannon butt into the middle of their security drill? Would you help or hinder their actions?

I'm not saying you carrying in church is wrong just don't go in to it thinking you're going to be the hero, they had a guy that tried that a new life he distracted a guard / usher at New Life during the shooting & got kicked out of the church over it. If you want to be part of the security plan become an usher and play on the team instead of against it.

I don't think my church has any plans. To explain what I mean, here in Michigan you can only carry your CCW in the church if the presiding official (pastor or board depending on church) allows it. I asked what their stance was, and they spent a couple of months debating and decided against allowing CCW in church. I think most members of the board are of the "it can't happen here" mindset. For their sakes I hope they're right.

This is unfortunate and all too prevelant in the churches.

Church Security Plan

I believe first check for those faithful who are dedicated and committed to regular attendance. Then check for any and all law enforcement/public safety members of your church, then involved the ushers;have them be first to summon for the police,fire on the onset of trouble. That will give you some nucleus of a security minded group. We have had that problem also. They hired rent-a- cop security to be the eyes-and-ears; given them walkie-talkies, (no arms),they also installed a monitoring security 24-7 video camera system, that covers the entire parking lot and inside the church.
