re1973, just wanted to let you know;

As far as tactical toilets; I don't know if this counts, but my friend has a custom built home; and from (way too many movies) he has the firm belief that [THEY] will come get you when you are on the can or in the shower; thus he's built the following:

He's got the space behind the toilet paper roll cut out, and it's got a small velcro screen that looks solid, but is not, there's a Walther PPK sitting behind the TP..

In his shower; there is a similar facility. One of the cubbyholes that us where the soap usually goes, has a plastic velcro over it as well... That's where his HK USP45compact sits when he's showering...

Don't ask... He's got 196 guns... Again, don't ask, just leave him be...

Actually, his house is impressive; there is a loaded gun in every drawer (he lives by himself) and I think a rifle or shotgun behind every door...

So I don't know if this counts as "tactical toilets" but the man is tactical...

Twoblink, I keep a firearm on my person at home. There may or may not be other (s) at home.
Bathroom guns , yep, I figured if something occured in my absence the Mrs. (now ex) would take cell phone head to master bath and call for help.
Traveling I always secured my room , my way.

Your friend may be a bit more than tactical than most.

I can tell you, the guy's got serious issues..

I cannot confirm it, but the story goes, his parents were killed in front of him by in-home invasion robbers; so his comment of "never again" I think he takes seriously..

We can all sit around and say "we understand" but the truth is, we don't. We were not 9 when both parents got hacked to death in front of us...

So if I were him, a tactical toilet makes perfect sense..

You eally would'nt want to go looking for toilet paper in the middle od the night... I don't think a Walter is nearly as effective as your average double bond T.P.

I'm not judging or patronizing your friend. Reality is many of us due to life experinces, have things we do considered out of the norm. Situaional Awareness in itself is considered odd to some.

Yes I had a designated bathroom gun when single,kept the practice when married, due to a life experience. I can't fanthom the degree of emotion being witness to a murder, especially family.
I have spoken to teenage girls , raped by father,stepdads,...and spoken with some of the same in juevinile jail. In fear made weapons and kept handy throughout bedroom and bathroom, one actually used scissors to fend off attack. Messes with your head.

The one and only time I have had a break in occured when (guess what?) I was in the shower. Happened in Laredo, TX in 1989. I heard the miscreant in question ransacking my living room while I dried myself off. This was reason for intense concern, because my house gun was concealed in the living room. The short version of ensuing events is thus: I (stark naked and dripping wet) came rocketing out of the bathroom and jumped on him. I then proceeded to beat his chemically-altered a$$ all over the living room. We rolled out through the still-open front door onto the parking lot, where I knelt on him and beat him some more. At that point, a quiet voice inside my head said "How is this going to look if the police arrive right now?" So I released him and darted back inside. My pistola, incidentally, was still where I had concealed it. I never bothered making a police report, for the description I was able to give, "young hispanic male, dressed like a pachuco," would have narrowed their search down to only about 97,000 people. I did do two other things:
1. Changed and improved all locks.
2. Purchased a small pistol to keep in the bathroom medicine cabinet.

I have a friend who just retired from being a convience store manager...

He was robbed 14 times. One of those times he was on the "John", and a hand with a gun in it came through the door. A "bathroom gun" makes perfect sense to me. (If it won't fall into the wrong hands. A child or someone who is too inexperienced to pick up a firearm.)

Golgo - tactical withdraw on your part was a good move. Initially, it would have been hard for you to explain (and humorous for the cops). Anyway, sometimes justice is better served by what you did.

How about the description he would be able to provide regarding his "attacker"?

"Really officer, this naked wet guy charges me and beats me up and ....."
